DEI Statement

Jamboree recognizes that the history of structural racism and sexism in the United States has affected housing practices, along with a wide range of social issues. This systemic legacy has contributed to stark racial and gender disparities in wealth, financial well-being, and access to safe, decent affordable housing. This is especially true for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

Jamboree defines equity as being fair and impartial, and social equity as impartiality, fairness, and justice for all people. Jamboree is committed to being an equitable and just organization. Jamboree’s commitment to the communities we improve through the development of affordable housing and services, will be equity conscious, with the goal of ensuring all staff, residents and community members are afforded the same opportunities to participate, prosper, and achieve their full potential.

Jamboree’s values embody and reinforce our commitment to DEI. As an organization we believe that every individual’s equitable opportunity, treatment, and contribution are invaluable. Our diversity of experience, perspectives, and ideas directly foster our continued creativity and innovation as we work to realize our vision that every person will live in a strong, healthy, sustainable, equitable, and just community.
